All this riff-raff about “insulting community organizers” misses the point entirely. Anyone who’s followed the campaign for even a few days realizes it was obama who started down this slippery slope by belittling Palin’s experience as mayor of a small town, as if it were meaningless and overrated. Palin responded to those attacks in her speech by contrasting her role with mayor to his role as a “community organizer” (whatever that is…like a soccer team manager?) — the big difference is as mayor, you have actual responsibilities. Brilliant response to a low-ball attack. Nothing wrong with community organizers (whatever that is….like a PTA volunteer?)…….they’re just not in the same league in terms of responsibility as a mayor would be.
I guess it’s just fine to insult the candidate for Vice President of the US…..but don’t you DARE insult those community organizers now!
